Laboratory Technologist

About the Role:
MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist to contribute to patient care through accurate and timely laboratory testing.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a growing organization, utilizing laboratory expertise to analyze and report findings, ensuring accurate test results.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in various areas such as hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking.
- Prepare specimens, analyze, and report findings accurately and efficiently.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
- Conduct quality control checks and participate in quality assurance activities to ensure accurate test results.
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and contribute to patient care decisions.
- Document all procedures and results accurately in the laboratory information system.
- Assist in training and mentoring new laboratory staff and students.
- Stay updated with advances in laboratory technology and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certifications.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology (MLT) or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS).
- ASCP certification as an MLT or MLS.
- BLS certification (AHA).
