We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Technician II to join our team at Spaulding Hospital - Boston and Cambridge. As a Medical Lab Technician II, you will be responsible for performing routine tests in our clinical laboratory to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine tests in hematology, coagulation, chemistry, bacteriology, and clinical microscopy using standard techniques.
- Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, addressing their specific needs and following phlebotomy standards.
- Operate and maintain automated equipment, such as coagulation and blood cell counters, and urine chemical analyzers, according to established guidelines.
- Provide laboratory reports to authorized personnel, following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and order supplies as needed to meet laboratory demands.
- Participate in cross-training with other laboratory staff to meet the needs of the laboratory.
- Consult with Laboratory Medical Technologists or Lab Section Supervisors to resolve issues and problems.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or a related Biological Science.
- One year of clinical training in a school of medical technology or a hospital setting.
- One year of experience in a hospital laboratory.
- Computer proficiency, with a preference for Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of service delivery.
