About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance Team at National Beef. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of our boiler and industrial refrigeration equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, repair, and maintain boiler and industrial refrigeration equipment and systems, including compressors, condensers, blast freezers, and ammonia pumps.
  • Perform periodic testing of ammonia detection systems to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and repair hot water heaters, water filters, and reservoirs, as well as electrical control panels.
  • Repair and maintain utility equipment, including steam, water, air, and standby equipment, including temperature controls, thermostats, meters, and temperature and pressure chart recorders.
  • Maintain ongoing improvement and upkeep of all utility areas, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Participate in HAZMAT team assignments as required and assist in the Emergency Response Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Proven work history in Boiler and industrial refrigeration (B&E) in the beef industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in RCM dealing with PMs, PDMs, and specialty training related to RCM process.
  • Disciplined in areas related to industrial maintenance, including electrical, fabrication, fluid power, machining, mechanical, plumbing, welding, and construction.
  • Mechanical skills and understanding of basic machine functions.
  • Ability to use common tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to work and be on time when scheduled.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and eye for detail.
  • Exemplary safety record (with previous employer).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • General knowledge of plant layout.
  • Valid Driver's License.
