Refrigeration Specialist

At National Beef, we are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance Team in Tama, Iowa. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining boiler and industrial refrigeration equipment and systems. This includes compressors, condensers, blast freezers, ammonia pumps, evaporators, and associated valves, piping, and instrumentation. You will also perform periodic testing of ammonia detection systems, monitor and repair hot water heaters, water filters, and reservoirs, as well as electrical control panels. Additionally, you will maintain ongoing improvement and upkeep of all utility areas, perform preventative and corrective maintenance policies, procedures, and reporting, and participate in HAZMAT team assignments as required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a proven work history in Boiler and industrial refrigeration (B&E) in the beef industry, strong knowledge in RCM dealing with PMs, PDMs, and specialty training related to RCM process, and disciplined skills in areas related to industrial maintenance, electrical, fabrication, fluid power, machining, mechanical, plumbing, welding, construction. You should also have mechanical skills and understanding of basic machine functions, ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches, basic computer skills, willingness to work and be on time when scheduled, ability to read, write, and speak English, strong work ethic, and eye for detail. A valid Driver's License is also required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this position include climbing occasionally to heights up to 50 feet, stooping occasionally, crouching occasionally, standing for 8 or more hours per day, talking, hearing, walking frequently, pushing frequently, pulling frequently, grasping frequently, repetitive motions frequently, and lifting. You will also be exposed to hot and cold environments and some exposure to the elements.
