Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef or Food Service Manager to join our team at Stauffers of Kissel Hill. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen and ensuring that our high standards of quality and customer service are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and prepare food for the hot foods area and meal center, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Develop and implement effective menu planning and inventory management systems to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Assign duties to team members and schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations based on the needs of the business and upcoming events.
  • Communicate regularly with the scan department to resolve any issues and ensure accurate pricing.
  • Collaborate with the buying and GM teams to ensure effective merchandising, new product implementation, and pricing strategies.
  • Develop and implement game plans and plan-o-grams for merchandising the department in conjunction with the buying team.
  • Maintain and operate departmental equipment, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Supervise and perform departmental inventories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Train team members in store policies, department procedures, product knowledge, and job duties to ensure they are working in a productive and safe manner.
  • Coordinate vendor invoices, SKH invoices, and inter-company transfers on a daily basis to ensure timely billing.
Requirements
  • Possess a current and valid ServSafe certification.
  • Previous kitchen management experience is required.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to cold and hot temperatures while working in or around coolers and kitchen equipment.
