Job Summary

The Cook is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing high-quality food in accordance with established standards and guidelines. As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dietitian and Director of Food Services to ensure that our residents receive exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Review menus prior to preparation and assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating department policies and procedures.
  • Food Service Coordination: Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary and work with the facility's dietitian to implement recommended changes.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies and that food is prepared to the highest standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies to provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Experience: One (1) year dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required.
  • Certifications: Must have State Food Service Sanitation certification.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to read, speak, and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday, push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet, and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
