Position Overview

As a vital member of our Security Department, the Security Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure atmosphere for both personnel and visitors. This position involves a comprehensive approach to safety, ensuring that all security protocols are effectively implemented and adhered to.

Work Schedule

This is a Full-Time position, requiring 40 hours per week on the Evening Shift.

Key Responsibilities

The Security Enforcement Officer is responsible for:

  • Delivering security services to create a safe environment for all.
  • Proactively monitoring and responding to security threats in a timely manner.
  • Investigating and documenting security incidents and potential hazards.
  • Staying informed about and adhering to policies regarding alarms and emergency preparedness.
  • Assisting staff and visitors with safety-related inquiries.
  • Coordinating with local law enforcement and judicial systems as necessary.
  • Exercising authority to make arrests for felonies and misdemeanors as permitted by law.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A certification in Peace Officer prior to hire or transfer, along with Police Authority certification (Michigan PA330).
  • A valid Driver's License issued by the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
  • A Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
  • Preferred: BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Preferred: Background in Law Enforcement or Security.
Educational Background

Applicants should have:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
