We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Beaumont Urgent Care. As the first point of contact between patients and clinical staff, this role plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Greet Patients and Provide Instructions: Greet patients and visitors in a polite and professional manner, providing clear instructions and ensuring a smooth check-in process.
- Insurance Verification and Payment Processing: Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and relay relevant information regarding payment policies and billing/collection processes.
- Front Office Operations: Maintain the readiness of the reception area, perform clerical tasks, and adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Financial Responsibility and Documentation: Determine and collect each patient's financial responsibility, document Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), and maintain confidentiality.
- Support for Physicians and Office Operations: Assist the practice manager and other staff as required, provide overall support for Physicians and office operations, and understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Prefer at least one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room setting, with urgent care experience preferred but not required.
- Schedule: Ability to work 8am to 8pm, 3 days a week, rotating weekends and holidays.
- Skills: Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination, with certification and experience as a medical assistant a plus but not required.
