Job Title: Director, Data Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Director, Data Engineering to join our team at Find Your Talent. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving data-driven decision-making and processes optimization across the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Roadmapping and Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and manage the analytics roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Process & Standardization: Establish and maintain standards for documenting analytic requests, metric definitions, and report distribution to stakeholders.
  • Data Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Engineering team to ensure data needs are well-defined and prioritized based on the analytics roadmap.
  • Player-Coach: Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff in data analysis and reporting, while also conducting analysis and developing actionable insights.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics and provide actionable insights, gathering and analyzing data from various sources.
  • Data Interpretation and Presentation: Translate data findings into clear, actionable recommendations, ensuring that all dashboards and reports contain sufficient information for stakeholders to leverage them self-service with confidence.
  • Problem Solving: Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data, investigating data anomalies and developing actionable insights that provide stakeholders a deepening understanding of business workings.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy and integrity by conducting regular audits and validation checks, developing and implementing processes to improve data quality.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in eCommerce, preferably in a growth-stage start-up working with stakeholders from across the organization, with 2+ years managing analytics functions.
  • Ownership & Independence: Strong sense of ownership and independence throughout the analytic lifecycle, from receiving requests to delivery, including gathering requirements, setting and meeting deadlines, identifying data needs, conducting analysis, conducting quality assurance, and delivering analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL, BigQuery, LookerStudio, or similar data analysis and visualization tools, with strong ability to interpret and work with complex data sets, including event-driven and non-relational data structures.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to clearly convey complex data insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think abstractly and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Organization: Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
