Labor Relations Director

Job Summary
Fenix Marine Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor Relations Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and executing Labor Relations programs, policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. This role requires strong leadership and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain positive labor-management relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and supplements, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Represent Fenix Marine Services on labor committees and negotiate agreements with diverse labor groups.
- Develop and implement labor policies and strategies, ensuring a collaborative and team-first work environment.
- Ensure contract compliance at all levels of labor management, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
- Recruit, train, and develop qualified personnel, fostering a culture of focused, hard work and openness.
- Manage select projects end-to-end, from problem analysis to solution identification and implementation.
Requirements
- Associate's or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of related union contracts and extensive experience managing labor.
- Personal knowledge of PMA work procedures and compliance activities.
- Ability to negotiate agreements and/or reach consensus with diverse labor groups.
- Direct involvement with ILWU labor workforce, including MEBA, OCU, OCS, Local 13, Local 63, Local 94, MFOW, or equivalent.
- Strong communicator in group settings and one-on-one interactions, with the ability to resolve conflicts and gain cooperation among competing interest groups.
