Job Title: System Administrator/Product Specialist

ProRec Resource Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator/Product Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability of products for application teams and end users, as well as evaluating, preparing, and recommending technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Function as the Technical SME on an enterprise-wide system.
  • Implement products/services that involve significant Commonwealth and federal oversight.
  • Provide direct technical expertise to Executive applications involving national security.
  • Deliver support and design for industry-specific applications that require integration with statewide systems or applications.
  • Interact with executive-level business users or technical experts.
  • Develop and implement work programs to effectively schedule tasks/assignments.
  • Identify improvements to project standards to achieve high-quality services/products.
  • Contribute as an expert or actual designer.
  • Provide accurate estimates for design and programming efforts for system changes and enhancements.
  • Confirm that technical architecture will support all changes required by product enhancements.
  • Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting own work and work of the Application Team.
  • Develop contingency plans as necessary.
  • Apply specific expertise to ensure that products meet defined customer objectives.
  • Resolve issues specific to the team.
  • Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Determine server sizing and configuration, printer configuration, bandwidth analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor the availability of updates/upgrades to server hardware, test, and install updates/upgrades.
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills required, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High-level proficiency in effective problem-solving required.
  • Identify and track issues, risks, and action items.
  • Participate in product design reviews to verify that design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements.
  • Perform impact analyses on production fixes and enhancements to establish priorities.
  • Provide basic product support and provide accurate and complete answers to detailed product questions in a timely manner.
  • Provide effective on-site product support as needed.
  • Accurately set the severity of identified defects.
  • Provide input to training and/or documentation materials regarding the latest technical and functional design changes.
  • Document all work for future reference.
  • Review the system test approach and conditions used as the basis for detailed test scenarios.
  • Follow quality standards.
  • Analytical and customer service skills.
  • Communicate accurate and useful status updates.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and spoken.
Required Skills:
  • MS Windows Server experience in a large organization setting - Required 5 years of experience.
  • Microsoft IIS configuration and support - Required 5 years of experience.
  • HTTP Server/Apache support - Required 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux - Nice to have 2 years' experience.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory - Nice to have 5 years.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking - Nice to have 5 years.
  • PowerShell - Nice to have 5 years.
  • Windows Troubleshooting - Nice to have 5 years.
  • VMware experience - Nice to have 5 years.
