Job Description and Duties

As a Telecommunications Systems Technician III at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continued operation of public safety communication networks and systems. You will be responsible for responding to and resolving complex public safety communications problems for State Agency clients, working under the direction of the TSOS I. In this lead capacity, you will plan, organize, oversee, and coordinate the work activities of other technicians within an assigned geographic shop or microwave area to ensure quality, quantity, and timeliness standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve complex public safety communications problems for State Agency clients.
  • Work under the direction of the TSOS I to ensure the continued operation of public safety communication networks and systems.
  • Plan, organize, oversee, and coordinate the work activities of other technicians within an assigned geographic shop or microwave area.
  • Ensure quality, quantity, and timeliness standards are met.
Requirements
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License.
  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL).
  • Background Investigation clearance.
  • Medical Clearance.
Working Conditions

This position is located in San Diego County and requires a residence within 50 miles of the assigned shop, area office, or at management's discretion. Travel to and working in remote locations, high-elevations, and inclement weather conditions may be required.
