Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ECHN. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, developing and implementing respiratory care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement respiratory care plans for patients with a range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and pneumonia.
- Conduct pulmonary function tests (PFTs) to assess lung function and diagnose respiratory disorders.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and antibiotics.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition, including respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, and other life-threatening emergencies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists, to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
- Document patient care and treatment plans in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other documentation systems.
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications desirable.
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) certification desirable.
- Minimum of one year of skilled respiratory experience within the last two years.
- Strong focus on customer service and ability to exhibit patience and empathy while providing care to a culturally diverse group of patients.
- Effective verbal communication skills with patients, co-workers, and physicians.
- Effective written communication skills for accurate medical charting of respiratory services provided and concurrently clear and precise medical billing.
- Ability to work well with others in a multi-task, fast-paced patient care environment.
This is a full-time position working in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
