Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ECHN. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, developing and implementing respiratory care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement respiratory care plans for patients with a range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and pneumonia.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests (PFTs) to assess lung function and diagnose respiratory disorders.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and antibiotics.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition, including respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, and other life-threatening emergencies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists, to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Document patient care and treatment plans in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other documentation systems.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications desirable.
  • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) certification desirable.
  • Minimum of one year of skilled respiratory experience within the last two years.
Competencies
  • Strong focus on customer service and ability to exhibit patience and empathy while providing care to a culturally diverse group of patients.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with patients, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Effective written communication skills for accurate medical charting of respiratory services provided and concurrently clear and precise medical billing.
  • Ability to work well with others in a multi-task, fast-paced patient care environment.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working in a hospital setting. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, and may be required to work on weekends and holidays.
