Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ECHN. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, developing and implementing respiratory care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement respiratory care plans for patients with a range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and pneumonia.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests (PFTs) to assess lung function and diagnose respiratory disorders.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and nebulizers.
  • Administer medications and treatments, including bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and oxygen therapy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans, including respiratory therapy, medication management, and education.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Connecticut.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) certification.
  • Experience working in a critical care setting.
