Join Our Team as a Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join our team at the Keck School of Medicine. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality radiation therapy to our patients.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical medical physics services at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and will also be involved in the scholarship development of other faculty, resident trainees, and students at USC/Keck. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of clinicians and researchers who are dedicated to advancing the field of radiation oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all physics-related aspects of treatment delivery, machine performance, and quality assurance are within acceptable tolerances.
  • Provide physics consultation with physicians or dosimetrists to evaluate the feasibility and quality of treatment plans.
  • Oversee the delivery of brachytherapy to ensure radiation safety and treatment accuracy.
  • Perform or supervise acceptance testing and commissioning of new treatment delivery hardware or software.
  • Provide educational support to radiation oncology residents, medical school students, and other students.
Requirements
  • ABR/ABMP Board Certified and California Registered TCP.
  • Associate Professor or Full Professor rank eligibility.
  • 7+ years of clinical practice experience in an academic setting, preferably with leadership and education experiences, and research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior clinical medical physics experience in pediatric radiotherapy services.
  • Demonstrated national and international reputation in scholarship, education/mentoring commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor appointment.
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication and teamwork skills.
  • Interest in leading and expanding a medical physics mentorship program within the department of radiation oncology.
What We Offer

We offer a highly competitive salary package with excellent benefits. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The annual base salary range for this position is $245,000 - $330,000. You may also be eligible for incentive compensation as defined by your department.
