Position Summary:


The Senior Vice President of Unscripted Current Programming for True Crime & Documentaries will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process from inception to broadcast for series featured on Oxygen and Peacock.

This role involves managing the transition from development to pre-production, production, and post-production phases. The SVP will provide strategic creative direction and constructive feedback on various project elements, including show formats, episode outlines, story selection, contributor access, graphics, music, and all creative components related to True Crime & Documentary content.

Key Responsibilities:


- Act as the primary liaison between internal departments and external production teams, ensuring seamless management of daily production activities.

- Foster creative innovation across all series in collaboration with marketing, digital, social media, and public relations teams.

- Collaborate with producers and production companies to uphold editorial, budgetary, and production standards, as well as contractual obligations for true crime programming.

- Facilitate the flow of information, materials, schedules, and approvals across various departments.

- Address production challenges in partnership with producers, production companies, and internal stakeholders.

- Oversee on-camera talent as needed for selected projects.

- Attend shoots as required, both in studio and on location.

Qualifications:


Basic Requirements:

- A minimum of 8 years of experience in unscripted programming within a streaming service, broadcast network, cable network, or television production company.

- Proven track record in the True Crime genre, ideally with high-quality specials or series.


Desired Characteristics:

- A strong passion for True Crime content.

- In-depth knowledge of True Crime production essentials, including legal guidelines and sensitivity in working with victims' families.

- Comprehensive understanding of contemporary television production and post-production processes.

- Experience managing budgets for streaming services and linear networks.

- Willingness to travel for shoots and accommodate production schedules beyond standard work hours.

- Strong editorial judgment and creative skills, particularly in story development and series production.

- Established relationships with leading Showrunners, Directors, and Producers.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
