The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role in collaborating with supervisors and team members to design, execute, and assess individualized care plans for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the supervisor on any program or personnel matters within the residence.
- Address household, medical, or maintenance requirements in coordination with the supervisor.
- Deliver direct support to individuals, including assistance with personal care, health management, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Prepare meals and provide supervision, training, and assistance to individuals in all aspects of their daily lives.
What You Will Experience:
- Work within a supportive 4:1 staffing ratio.
- Offer hands-on assistance, motivation, mentoring, and guidance to individuals.
- Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal development of those we serve.
- Assist with daily living activities such as mobility, dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene.
- Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
- Build meaningful relationships with individuals and colleagues.
- Participate in community events and enjoyable activities like outdoor walks, games, and social gatherings.
- Provide transportation for individuals to appointments or other activities outside the residence.
- Empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.
- Document progress, milestones, and action steps.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program within the last decade is required, along with certification or transcripts.
- Alternative qualifications may include:
- Completion of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) program without obtaining licensure.
- Holding a current or previous RN or LPN license in good standing.
- Completion of a program for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, or Physician's Assistant in good standing.
- Enrollment in one of the aforementioned medical programs.
- Completion of a medical degree or health program from outside the United States covering health overview and caregiving techniques.
- Must be at least 18 years old for adult residential programs and 21 years old for child foster care homes.
- Preferred experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as per company policy is required.
- Current auto liability insurance is necessary.
- Ability to assist with personal care tasks.

- Flexible hours may include full or part-time shifts, with a combination of weekdays and weekends.
