Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Beebe Healthcare. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Assist in transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement
  • Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the nursing team
  • Accuchecks completed as directed
  • Accurate and prompt documentation
  • Assist with patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
  • Support patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes
  • Complete hourly rounds to assigned patients and anticipate patient needs, responding promptly to call lights and patient requests
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff
Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal
  • Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members
  • Able To Withstand Crisis Situations
  • Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors
  • Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records
Qualifications
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Delaware OR completion of approved Patient Care Assistant course (Concepts of Patient Care)
  • BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
