Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to clinicians and staff, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and preparing charts for the next day's schedule.
- Answer phone calls, greet patients, and direct them to the appropriate staff member or department.
- Process cancellations and no-show appointments, and notify clinicians of changes to their schedule.
- Prepare and distribute mail to staff mailboxes, physicians, and the practice manager.
- Maintain patient records, including scanning documents and filing correspondence, reports, and test results.
- Refer patients with billing inquiries or payment questions to the billing office.
- Print and provide medical records information to outside agencies and physicians under established guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of administrative records and work effectively with coworkers, patients, visitors, and other personnel within and outside the practice.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with current office technology and proficiency with computer office applications (Electronic Medical/Health Records, MS Office, etc.) preferred.
- Experience in an office setting with at least 1 year of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of various insurance authorization/referral requirements preferred.
- Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
- Typing skills at 30 WPM preferred.
40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, no weekends, and no holidays.
