Occupational Therapy Assistant Role

The Occupational Therapy Assistant, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy. This role requires flexibility to meet the needs of the system within various facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct patient care and treatment planning
  • Implementing treatment programs and interventions
  • Collaborating with the occupational therapist and healthcare team
  • Providing patient education and support
  • Documenting patient progress and outcomes

Qualifications

  • Licensed as OTA in the state where the hospital or clinic resides
  • Current BLS certification required
  • One year of clinical experience preferred
