The Maine International Trade Center (MITC) is seeking a Global Trade Advisor to join their team. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with the requirement that the employee resides in Maine for tax purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Management: Act as the primary contact for MITC members and businesses interested in international trade. Understand their specific business needs and provide tailored resources, programs, and tools to foster success.
  • Advocacy and Promotion: Champion the initiatives of the Trade Center, highlighting the various programs and resources available to Maine businesses aiming for international expansion. Seek strategic partnerships with businesses, associations, and government entities to enhance MITC's reach.
  • Event Coordination: Organize and participate in trade shows, delegations, and symposiums that support Maine businesses in their international growth efforts. Collaborate with the MITC team to facilitate incoming trade delegations and other relevant associations.
  • Market Development: Identify and engage with innovative businesses across all 16 counties in Maine, encouraging their interest in global markets and promoting the use of MITC resources.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for learning and taking on new challenges, with a focus on making informed decisions and generating innovative ideas.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt communication methods to suit different audiences.
  • Experience in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, demonstrating a willingness to contribute to collective success.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and international trade regulations, or a strong capacity to learn and stay updated.
  • Interest in international trade, with an appreciation for diverse cultures and customs.
  • Experience with CRM systems is advantageous.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within the state and internationally as required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting salary at $52,000, commensurate with experience.
