About Berry Global, a leading manufacturer of innovative products, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Exemplifying the Berry Behaviors and Values at all times.
  • Leading by example and exhibiting professionalism in all areas when representing Berry inside and outside of the plant.
  • Working in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel and mold technicians to keep all equipment in top working order.
  • Troubleshooting, removing, and replacing different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optic systems.
  • Reading programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
  • Diagnosing and repairing AC and DC motor controls.
  • Replacing belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears, and related equipment.
  • Communicating with other plant personnel to review deficiencies.
  • Accurately logging all work performed.
  • Maintaining work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Performing PMs, cleaning, and lubricating molding machines and equipment.
  • Modifying, repairing, and rebuilding plant machinery and equipment.
  • Performing mechanic skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Visually inspecting and solving problem machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Measuring parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation.
  • Documenting repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Potential duties may also include:

  • Fabrication and installation of related trades.
  • Performing building maintenance.
  • General facility repairs.
  • Installation of new equipment and relocation of equipment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, technical school, and/or Associates degree from an accredited technical institute or combination education and experience.
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is required.
  • Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Independent in working effectively with little supervision, self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
