About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Construction Technician to join our team at Charter Communications. As an Underground Construction Technician, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of our fiber optic network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair cables, equipment, and infrastructure in underground settings
  • Work with a team to complete construction projects, ensuring timely and high-quality results
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including street cutters, drills, trenchers, and excavators
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Travel to various locations to complete projects, with a focus on rural expansion initiatives
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in OSP underground construction/maintenance
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of outside plant construction standards
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, initiative, communication, adaptability, and consistency
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Class A CDL (commercial driver's license)
  • OSHA certification
  • Fiber pulling experience
