Make Your Mark at PrysmianThis Maintenance Electrician performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled electrical/electronic equipment installation, repair and replacement of plant equipment. The Maintenance Electrician should have a wide variety of electrical/electronic fundamental skills. The Maintenance Electrician must demonstrate a competency in the following:
Overview: Participate in the Designs and develops of all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery.  Provide support for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of wire and cable equipment and processes. 
  • Support the maintenance department in electrical/electronic systems troubleshooting. 
  • Provide technical support and direction to the maintenance department for maintaining electrical and electronic equipment in a manner which optimizes operational performance and safety. 
  • Manage small, assigned projects which include cost estimations, designs, specifications, approvals, procurement, installation, startup, cost control, safety and overall implementation to achieve Plant and organizational objectives. 
  • Support outsourced repairs of critical electronic components.   
  • Adhere to all Corporate and Plant practices and policies in all aspects of work and ensure compliance with Federal, State and local electrical codes, and regulations.  
  • Partner with Electrical Engr. and Controls Engr. in the Development, writing, and de-bugging control logic for machine control, make design modifications and improvements to complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. 
  • Analyze and interpret electrical schematics to the component level as required to make repairs and return equipment to operation.  
  • Utilize programming devices to analyze P.L.C. programs for failures or improvements.  Maintain detailed records of critical process variables and ensure that programs are logical and as comprehensible as possible. 
  • Support the electricians in troubleshooting, repair and program AC/DC drive systems including off-shifts and weekends. 
  • Troubleshoot issues utilizing current technology including electrical test equipment and computer diagnosis equipment. 
  • Maintain existing documentation and ensure information is accessible to other team members.   
  • Participate with Operations to solve manufacturing problems, initiate productivity improvements, and identify future opportunities for the overall continual improvement of the Sedalia operation. 
  • Liaison with Engineering and Maintenance Team.  
  • Perform other related duties as per direction of the Manager and the Coordinator. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 
  • Advanced computer skills required including PLC programming and CAD. (Experience with Wonderware a plus). 
  • Understanding types of communication, DH+, Serial (Rs232, RS485) ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet.
  • Ability to understand routing, gateways and VLan’s.  
Qualifications: 
  • Electrical/Electronics Technician.  
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PLC, Drives, Programing in Industrial Maintenance (wire & cable experience highly desirable). 
Work Environment/Physical Demands: 
  • Will work in both factory and office conditions.
