CEM Corporation is currently in search of a highly driven individual to fill the role of a Senior Buyer. This pivotal position involves overseeing the procurement processes assigned to you and spearheading strategic sourcing initiatives for the organization. The Senior Buyer will play an essential role in the acquisition of raw materials, engaging in negotiations, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of products at competitive pricing. Additionally, you will assist in managing departmental metrics to achieve manufacturing objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Senior Buyer include, but are not limited to:

  • Formulating, implementing, and supervising procedures for sourcing and planning raw materials and products utilized by the company.
  • Creating and processing requisitions and purchase orders for essential materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Negotiating and managing vendor contracts and purchase orders, with a focus on pricing, quality, and delivery timelines for materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Establishing optimal minimum and maximum stock levels for raw materials to ensure adherence to manufacturing deadlines.
  • Maintaining detailed records of purchased items, including costs, delivery information, and performance data using ERP system tools.
  • Recommending production adjustments as necessary to sustain a consistent supply of raw materials and products.
  • Evaluating supply and demand trends to forecast future requirements and ensure resource availability.
  • Proposing enhancements in methods, materials, or systems in response to technological advancements.
  • Overseeing Supplier Quality initiatives and actively supporting both tactical and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to analyze supply and demand trends and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing work, and maintaining organized records.
  • Strong negotiation skills regarding terms, pricing, and conditions with vendors and suppliers. Experience in an OEM environment and risk mitigation is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Significant ERP system skills required, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
