Job Description

Position: Radiology Technologist/ EMT Basic

Core Purpose:

Deliver mobile X-Ray, laboratory services, EKG, and fundamental medical evaluations and treatments (if applicable) to patients across diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and process X-Rays, ensuring timely submission to a Radiologist for analysis.
  • Administer EKGs and relay results to a physician for assessment.
  • Collect blood samples using the correct color-coded containers for laboratory analysis.
  • Gather urine samples for accurate lab evaluations.
  • Execute basic laboratory tasks as outlined in established protocols and procedures.
  • Exhibit consistent attendance.
  • Engage professionally and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisory personnel, and clients.
  • Maintain necessary State licenses, ARRT, and EMT-B Certification, alongside health and operational requirements.

Additional Duties:

  • Participate in meetings as necessary.
  • Connect and disconnect Holter Monitors.
  • Submit precise and timely timesheets following protocol.
  • Ensure equipment cleanliness and adhere to maintenance schedules through Supervisors and Bio-med.
  • Perform various administrative tasks including scanning, filing, faxing, photocopying, and mailing.
  • Engage in special projects or other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisors/Managers.
  • Provide training to fellow technologists as needed.

Work Environment:

Employees may encounter various weather conditions and driving scenarios. Exposure to a range of medical conditions is expected. The role requires moderate lifting to transport X-Ray equipment from the vehicle to the patient's location and to assist with moving patients and furniture.

Safety Protocols:

Shurmed Ems LLC recommends utilizing back supports, handcarts, ramps, etc., and will provide such equipment if desired. It is crucial to minimize radiation exposure to patients, their families, and staff. Standard radiographic views must be produced in compliance with company policies, billing regulations, and physician directives. Universal precautions should be observed during direct patient interactions, and lead aprons must be worn during X-Ray procedures to protect others in the vicinity. A Radiation Monitor should be worn while on duty, with monthly exposure readings submitted.

Qualifications:

  • A.R.R.T. certification and state licensure.
  • Basic EMT certification.
  • Graduation from an accredited radiological technology program.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Successful completion of drug screening and background checks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with pleasant phone etiquette.
