Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within the Employee Health division plays a crucial role in supporting the administration and oversight of the organization's Employee Health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

-
  • Collects, verifies, and documents the health history of staff members, ensuring the acquisition of relevant health information.

  • Conducts drug screenings, administers PPD tests, flu vaccinations, and Fit testing.

  • Follows infection control and safety protocols while maintaining confidentiality standards.

  • Records interventions, patient reactions, medications provided, and test outcomes in medical records, ensuring accurate maintenance of charts and documentation.

  • Encourages wellness by supplying educational materials to patients and conveying instructions from physicians and allied health professionals.

  • Responsively and courteously addresses patient inquiries regarding medical information, adhering to established triage protocols.

  • Maintains inventory levels of medical supplies in examination rooms, ordering necessary supplies and medications as required.

  • Operates within the scope of delegated authority, adhering to practice policies and procedures.

  • Represents Employee Health Services in committee meetings, effectively communicating with small groups.

  • Upholds patient confidentiality and executes job responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Valid LPN license in the state of New Jersey.

  • BLS Certification.

  • Competence in dosage calculations and basic laboratory techniques.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.

  • Familiarity with infectious disease management, control, and safety standards.

  • Understanding of healthcare systems, regulations, policies, and documentation standards.

  • Physical capability to stand, squat, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

  • Intermediate computer proficiency along with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
