Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately gathers, verifies, and documents patient health histories, including specimen collection for laboratory tests.
  • Records vital statistics and updates patient information, ensuring thorough documentation in electronic health records.
  • Provides fundamental patient care as directed by healthcare providers, including administering medications and treatments. Assists in examinations, diagnostic procedures, and minor medical interventions while adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
  • Maintains detailed records of assessments, interventions, patient and family responses, medications administered, and test outcomes.
  • Encourages wellness by distributing educational materials and effectively communicating medical advice from healthcare professionals.
  • Manages patient inquiries via telephone regarding medical information, adhering to established triage protocols, and coordinates pharmacy communications for prescriptions.
  • Ensures adequate medical supplies are available in examination areas and oversees instrument sterilization processes.
  • Operates within delegated authority and complies with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Upholds patient confidentiality and executes responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates clinical proficiency in nursing practices and assists healthcare providers with various procedures.
  • Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
  • At least one year of experience as an LPN, preferably in a medical practice setting.
  • Current state licensure as a practical nurse.
  • Experience in Orthopedics is a plus.
