Overview:

As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will deliver essential clinical assistance to healthcare providers, patients, and their families, aiding in the assessment and management of patient health conditions.

Your role will involve ensuring that diagnostic tests are completed accurately and documented properly in the medical records, thereby supporting ongoing quality care.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, collaborate effectively within a team, maintain a positive outlook, and exhibit outstanding customer service skills. Strong communication abilities with patients and their families, along with a compassionate and understanding approach, are essential.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather, confirm, and document patient health histories. Collect samples for laboratory testing.
  • Record vital signs and update patient information; maintain accurate notes in electronic health records.
  • Provide fundamental patient care as prescribed by physicians and other healthcare professionals. Administer medications and treatments as instructed. Support healthcare teams in conducting examinations, diagnostic procedures, and minor medical interventions.
  • Follow infection control protocols and confidentiality regulations diligently.
  • Document evaluations, interventions, patient and family feedback, medications administered, and test outcomes in medical records.
  • Encourage wellness by distributing educational materials and conveying instructions from healthcare providers.
  • Manage patient inquiries regarding medical information, adhering to established triage protocols. Coordinate with pharmacies concerning patient prescriptions.
  • Ensure medical supplies are adequately stocked in examination areas. Oversee sterilization of instruments.
  • Operate within the scope of delegated authority and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and execute responsibilities with professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Proven clinical proficiency in nursing practices and support for healthcare providers during procedures.
  • Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • At least one year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse; experience in a medical practice setting is preferred.
  • Valid state licensure as a practical nurse.
  • Previous experience in Orthopedics is advantageous.
