Program Evaluator

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is seeking a skilled Program Evaluator to join the Early Childhood and Family Support Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in assessing the effectiveness of the Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five (PDG B5) initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze programmatic, service-related, and surveillance system data to inform decision-making.
  • Design, coordinate, and manage special evaluation procedures to address data gaps.
  • Develop and conduct trainings on program evaluation and quality improvement best practices.
  • Design and conduct program evaluations to measure the impact of initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SAS or other statistical software.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large, complex data sets.
  • Strong skills in descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
  • Ability to identify relationships and trends in data, as well as factors that could affect research results.
  • Meet minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health science, health education, behavioral or social science, or a closely related degree. Three years of job-related experience in program evaluation or related health or education programming. Experience in early care and education or maternal and child health preferred.
