Omnicare, a subsidiary of CVS Health Corporation, offers a wide range of pharmacy-related services to long-term care facilities and other healthcare customers. While we specialize in senior care, we also cater to various targeted populations.

Your Role

As a Clinical Pharmacy Consultant, you will have the rewarding opportunity to work closely with facility leaders and staff to coordinate pharmaceutical services within long-term care settings. You will guide the development and assessment of pharmaceutical service procedures and assist facilities in identifying, evaluating, and resolving pharmacy-related issues that impact resident care, medical treatment, quality of life, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations across facilities
  • Conduct clinical reviews as mandated by state and federal guidelines
  • Proactively address and communicate potential issues
  • Promote and drive the adoption of Omnicare programs and services
  • Leverage existing customer relationships to foster organic growth and attract new business
  • Facilitate Executive Reviews and other necessary customer meetings
  • Collaborate with various departments to achieve site goals
  • Perform Medication Regimen Reviews (MRR) as required and provide detailed reports to facility staff
  • Dedicate appropriate time to each resident's review based on clinical needs
  • Utilize OSC2OR software for MRR generation and documentation
  • Employ the Minimum Data Set (MDS 3.0) tool to identify residents needing focused attention

Quality Improvement:
Complete the "Consultant Pharmacist Summary Report" for all relevant facilities and submit it along with the "Summary for Consultant Services" at the end of each consulting month.

Education and Qualifications:
  • Active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy practice (3 years preferred)
  • Experience in long-term care pharmacy practice (1 year preferred)
  • Willingness to obtain licensure in surrounding states
  • IV certification or relevant experience
  • B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required
  • Certification in geriatrics and/or gerontology preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
The typical pay range for this role is $90.12 per hour. This range represents the base hourly rate for positions within this job grade. Actual salary offers will depend on various factors including experience, education, and geography.
