Role Overview: The ELA/Math Instructional Leader will play a crucial role in ensuring that our scholars feel seen, loved, heard, and successful. This position is grant funded and will focus on establishing and maintaining a reflective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school leadership to define a clear academic vision for literacy instruction aligned with our mission.
  • Support the development and implementation of an engaging academic program for grades K-5.
  • Coach teachers to enhance instructional quality in Reading, Math, Writing, Social Studies, and Spanish.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and effective instructional strategies.
  • Work with the Neurodiversity Team to implement research-based methods for supporting scholars with special needs.
  • Develop lesson and unit plans while providing constructive feedback to educators.
  • Assist in creating a comprehensive teacher observation and feedback plan.
  • Observe and coach teachers to refine their instructional practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish assessment visions and manage assessment processes.
  • Set annual academic goals and benchmarks, maintaining a relentless focus on student success.
  • Plan and develop the professional learning calendar, including summer training for new staff.
  • Engage in professional learning sessions throughout the academic year.
  • Ensure effective progress monitoring of student performance.
  • Become proficient in all reading assessments utilized at Bloom Academy.
  • Participate in coaching sessions with the leadership team to enhance professional practice.
  • Communicate high academic and behavioral expectations consistently.
  • Foster effective communication with students, families, and staff.
  • Support teachers through coaching to improve classroom proficiency.
  • Complete required training and observations as mandated by the TCLAS grant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Strong alignment with the school's mission and core values.
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience.
  • A growth mindset and high emotional intelligence.
  • A belief in the potential of all students to achieve high levels of success.
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with state law.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
