Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at the University of St. Francis. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing safety and security services to the university community, ensuring the protection of life and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas, including university buildings, dormitories, and parking lots, to ensure security and deter potential security breaches.
  • Provide escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty, as well as individuals responsible for transporting moneys to or from the university.
  • Prepare written and computerized reports of daily activity and incidents occurring on campus.
  • Perform periodic checks of emergency call boxes and streetlights to ensure proper functioning.
  • Provide visible patrol and examine doors, windows, and gates to determine if they are secure.
  • Drive university vehicles, providing safe and efficient transportation to the university community and visitors.
  • Provide public assistance, including lockout services and information.
Requirements
  • 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Illinois driver's license
  • Provision of a clear background check
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all Safety and Security rules, regulations, policy, and procedures.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays. The noise level in the work environment may sometimes be loud. Some work may be performed on a computer in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
