Job Description:

A Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in an inpatient hospice setting. This position requires a strong commitment to delivering compassionate and patient-centered care while working collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and communication with the care team.
  • Perform 12-lead EKG duties and apply, check, and document restraints as directed by the RN or physician.
  • Assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
  • Order and maintain office and patient care floor stock/supplies.
  • Perform unit secretary duties, including maintaining patient charts, responding to phone calls, and providing accurate information about the patient to the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
  • 1+ years of previous experience in a healthcare setting.
