We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Lutheran Medical Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide care to patients with acute and chronic needs, including responding to call lights, assisting with hygiene care, and obtaining vital signs.
- Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Perform 12-lead EKG duties and apply, check, and document restraints as directed by the RN or physician.
- Assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges, and maintain patient charts and records.
- Order and maintain office and patient care floor stock/supplies, and perform the duties of unit secretary.
- Assist physicians and RNs as directed, and promote the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health.
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification.
- 1+ years of previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
This role requires the ability to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs. The employee must also be able to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity is required to manipulate complex and delicate equipment, and the employee must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
This role also requires the ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients, and to navigate crowded and busy rooms. The employee may be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
Work EnvironmentThis role is based at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The employee must be able to work nights and/or weekends, and may be required to float to other departments based on business need.
