Assistant Store Manager Job Description

At Smart Foodservice Stores LLC, we're committed to delivering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coach employees to provide efficient and friendly service at the registers and throughout the store.

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and HR to address employee performance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure accurate inventory management, including preparation and execution of inventory guidelines.

  • Train front-end employees and other staff members on required programs and procedures.

  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining a safe and clean store environment, adhering to company standards and protocols.

  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and contribute to achieving sales and profit targets.

  • Develop and implement effective merchandising programs, including promotional ends, signage, and other company-specific initiatives.

  • Communicate with store employees about merchandising and marketing programs, ensuring seamless execution and follow-up reporting.

Requirements:

  • A two-year college degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of four years of experience in a retail work environment, with at least two years of management/supervisory experience.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound business decisions.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, holidays, and weekends.

  • Proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft programs.
