Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager Trainee to join our team at Walmart. As an Operations Manager Trainee, you will be responsible for leading and developing teams effectively, teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates
  • Tour stores and provide feedback to improve store operations
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts
  • Provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions
  • Communicate business objectives to teams effectively
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives
  • Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved
  • Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies
  • Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience
  • Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area
  • Review and evaluate P&L statements
  • Manage and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses
  • Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates
  • Hire, train, and mentor associates
  • Assign duties and set clear expectations
  • Provide associate recognition and communicate expectations consistently and effectively
  • Ensure diversity and inclusion awareness
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs
  • Identify and communicate goals and objectives
  • Build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning
Requirements
  • 2 years' of college; OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR 2 years' general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The hourly wage range for this position is $31.49-$36.06*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Sales Volume Category (SVC) (based on facility sales volume).
