Massanutten Military Academy is in search of a dedicated Junior Language Specialist. The successful applicant should possess a robust proficiency in at least two languages, along with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. This role offers flexibility as it can be part-time or full-time and is conducted remotely. The Bilingual Document Translator will be tasked with converting documents and communications between English and one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Italian. Additionally, the Translator will be required to review and refine translations as necessary. A military background is considered advantageous, as insights from such experience are valuable in this educational environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Convert a diverse range of documents from one language to another, ensuring the preservation of the original content, context, and tone.
  • Review and enhance translated materials to guarantee precision, completeness, and fluency.
  • Research industry-specific terminology and translate technical documents as required.
  • Handle multiple projects and deadlines while upholding high standards of quality.
  • Engage with students to clarify project specifications and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Safeguard confidentiality and maintain the integrity of sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of professional experience in translation or interpretation.
  • Fluency in a minimum of two languages, including English.
  • A military background is a plus.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across all languages.
  • Strong familiarity with translation software and tools.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • A strong commitment to precision and a dedication to delivering high-quality work.
