Job Title: Transportation Project Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Project Specialist to join our team at Sambatek, LLC. This role involves working on highway projects, from preliminary design to plan development, and collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of project documents and ensure they meet set standards and procedures.
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes.
  • Participate in quality review processes and perform CAD drafting in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve project goals.
  • Gain field experience, spending time in the field to perform construction inspection, material testing, and transportation project site observation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 1-4 years of professional design experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Experience using Bentley GEOPAK and corridor modeling experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage tasks on a project with strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Office/Design:
    • Primary work environment is an office setting.
    • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Field Experience:
    • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
    • Ability to carry equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings.
    • Ability to work outdoors in all seasons of weather.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
