We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Primary Care Associates of Appleton LTD. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our providers in delivering exceptional medical services.
Responsibilities- Room patients for provider exams, obtaining and documenting patient information, including vital signs, height, weight, medications, history, and symptoms.
- Administer medications, including injections, as ordered by the provider.
- Instruct patients on preparation for tests and procedures.
- Clean and stock work areas, including instrument cleaning and sterilization.
- Manage patient telephone calls, relaying information, obtaining information, sharing test results, and providing advice/direction from the provider.
- Schedule special procedures and appointments, assessing and scheduling appointments for patients needing same-day appointments.
- Refer complex patient questions/situations to an RN or provider.
- Monitor laboratory, x-ray, ECG results, and other pertinent medical data under provider guidance.
- Complete referrals using accepted standards.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring the provider sees all necessary information.
- Communicate effectively with callers, patients, physicians, and other staff in a polite, courteous, and understandable manner.
- Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid, unrestricted LPN license in the State of Wisconsin.
- Current BLS for healthcare certification.
- Computer skills, including payroll system and EPIC Software.
