Process Engineer

At Burns & McDonnell, we're seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Federal group, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our growing work in DOE and DOD production and nuclear facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Support process design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, including fluid and liquid handling, dry material handling, and packaging of both liquid and dry materials.
- Develop PFDs, P&IDs, Heat and Mass Balances (HMBs), pump and equipment sizing calculations.
- Develop process instrument and equipment data and specifications.
- Demonstrate leadership ability at the discipline level on smaller multidiscipline project teams.
- Develop process models with commercially available programs (Aspen, Hysys, ChemCAD) or by building a custom model in Excel.
- Communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Architecture, Electrical, Controls, Designers, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 3 years related experience, consulting preferred (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Previous consulting experience preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoE or DoD Security Clearance.

Travel RequirementsThis position may require travel to support projects, estimated at 25% of the time.
Compensation RangeThe expected compensation range for this position is $105,000 - $175,000, based on a number of factors, including individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location.
