Job Summary
As a key member of the Dignity Health leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for hospital operations. This role is responsible for building a culture that supports the organization's mission and values, developing and implementing standards and programs, and achieving hospital goals. The Chief Operating Officer will work closely with the President/Chief Executive Officer to implement hospital policies and strategic business plans, and will assume responsibility for the overall operations of the medical center in the absence of the President/Chief Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate in the development of short and long-term planning objectives to ensure the continued growth of the hospital and the provision of healthcare services required by the community.
• Create an environment and culture that is conducive to the implementation of the organizational goals and strategic plan as defined by the Board of Directors.
• Assume the responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer in their absence and represent the hospital and Chief Executive Officer at various external governmental and professional association meetings and committees.
• Collaborate with leadership from governing board, management, and medical staff to realize operational strategies and outcomes.
• Retain authority and accountability for the development and implementation of the organization plan for the provision of patient care and scope of services for the hospital and reporting departments.
• Play a key role in developing a strong customer service orientation that will lead to improved relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Ensure that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, TJC Standards, and laws governing healthcare operations.

Requirements
• Master's degree in healthcare administration or a closely related field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of administrative management experience.
