Job Summary

The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist position is a key role in ensuring the well-being of employees and students at Boston University. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting health and safety inspections, fire safety inspections, and worker health and safety training. This position requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and local safety regulations and OSHA standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and assessments
  • Fire safety inspections and fire drills
  • Worker health and safety training
  • Construction safety assessments and safety plan development
  • Maintain associated records
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a B.A./B.S. in a related field, basic knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and OSHA standards, and a minimum of three to five years of fire safety and/or occupational safety experience and training. Specific health and safety experience and certificates in related field or professional certifications are also required. A valid driver's license is necessary for this position.
