Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Security Engineer to enhance our cybersecurity efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for safeguarding digital assets and a solid technical foundation in application and cloud networking technologies. This role involves close collaboration with our application production engineering teams and the Information Security team to embed security best practices throughout our software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the InfoSec Team, IT, and Product Engineering teams to realize the strategic security vision within our products.
  • Design, implement, and uphold comprehensive security architectures for our applications and cloud infrastructure, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of Cloud Security Best Practices by configuring and managing security controls for cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM), network security groups (NSGs), and encryption protocols.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of security configurations, policies, procedures, and incidents to monitor the status of security initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Develop security automation and orchestration workflows to enhance security operations and expedite incident response times.
  • Conduct security-focused code assessments.
  • Support the InfoSec team in developing and implementing controls to achieve and maintain compliance with SOC 2 and other relevant industry standards.
  • Advise product engineering teams on application security matters, including threat modeling and application security reviews.
  • Work closely with product engineering teams to integrate security frameworks and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including secure coding guidelines, static and dynamic code analysis, and dependency scanning.
  • Engage in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including threat modeling, secure code assessments, and security testing.
  • Assist teams in reproducing, triaging, and resolving application security vulnerabilities.
  • Lead incident response efforts during security breaches or incidents, managing investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery activities while implementing preventative measures for the future.

Candidate Profile

  • An authority in application and cloud security with a profound understanding of current threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
  • A cybersecurity enthusiast with a robust technical background and a commitment to staying ahead of emerging threats.
  • Proficient in programming and automation using Go, JavaScript, Bash, and Terraform.
  • A collaborative team player capable of effectively communicating and working with cross-functional teams to integrate security into every phase of the software development lifecycle and conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A detail-oriented problem-solver with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.
  • A continuous learner who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in cybersecurity.
  • Strong understanding of web application security principles, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with both AWS and GCP production environments.
  • Experienced in applying security best practices to meet industry compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
  • (Bonus) Security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, CEH, or GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer / AWS Certified Security Engineer.
