Job Description

At HFW Companies, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surveyor in Training to support our land surveying and property research activities. Your primary responsibilities will include interpreting deeds, plats, and other real property abstracting information to extract relevant data, retrieving necessary documents from various sources, and preparing boundary sketches using AutoCAD software.

You will collaborate closely with a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to conduct boundary research and analysis and assist in the preparation of boundary maps and metes and bounds descriptions for various sites and streets. This role requires a keen attention to detail, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of land surveying principles.

As a Surveyor in Training, you will contribute to the accurate and efficient completion of surveying projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. You will also have opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting deeds, plats, and other real property abstracting information
  • Retrieving necessary documents from various sources
  • Preparing boundary sketches using AutoCAD software
  • Assisting RPLS on boundary research and analysis
  • Preparing boundary maps and metes and bounds descriptions for various sites and streets

Requirements:

  • Associate or 4-year college degree
  • Basic knowledge and experience in AutoCAD
  • SIT Certification preferred, not mandatory
