Job Title: Hydrographic Survey Team Leader

At Port Houston, we're seeking a highly skilled Hydrographic Survey Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our hydrographic survey team, you will be responsible for supervising and managing all hydrographic surveying activities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and requirements, and providing quality hydrographic surveying and mapping support to various Port Houston departments and outside consultants and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage all hydrographic surveying activities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and requirements
  • Provide quality hydrographic surveying and mapping support
  • Collaborate with contractors and consultants to establish survey control for projects
  • Verify accuracy of hydrographic field survey data
  • Review and QC deliverables, including hydrographic survey data, detailed maps, and engineering or survey files
  • Act as Port Houston representative before official bodies, regulatory agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and the public concerning hydrographic survey-related matters
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geodesy, surveying, geomatics, oceanography, marine geology, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of direct experience in hydrographic surveying
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparation of deliverables, project management, managing field and office staff, and interacting with stakeholders
  • Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor License (RPLS) or Texas Professional License (PE)
  • National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) - The Hydrographic Society of America (THSOA) Hydrographer Certification
