Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Pleasanton, CA. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and investigate criminal activities and incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as needed.
  • Conduct crime scene investigations, including collecting and preserving physical evidence, and documenting case facts.
  • Issue warnings or citations for parking or moving violations, and investigate traffic incidents.
  • Patrol assigned areas to deter crime and maintain public safety, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Provide emergency aid and assistance to incapacitated persons, and participate in surveillance and intelligence gathering activities.
  • Prepare and present case evidence in court, and participate in the planning and execution of raids and searches.
  • Provide on-the-job training and evaluation for recruit/trainee police officers, and perform administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, with prior experience in law enforcement and successful completion of college coursework in criminology or a related field preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, and possess a Basic Certificate from P.O.S.T. at the time of appointment.
  • Must have normal color vision, and no hearing loss over 25 db in the 500, 1000, 2000 frequency range.
  • Must possess a valid Class C California driver's license, and proof of auto liability insurance.
  • Must have a satisfactory completion of a thorough background investigation, and pass a pre-employment drug screen, medical, psychological, and polygraph examinations.
