POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Investigator program is designed for those interested in pursuing a career as a Private Investigator. This comprehensive program equips individuals with the skills necessary to conduct field surveillance for clients who suspect fraudulent insurance claims. Responsibilities may also encompass performing field interviews and gathering recorded statements from individuals who may possess relevant information regarding a suspected claim. Trainees will collaborate closely with a field supervisor, gaining hands-on experience and training to fulfill their job duties effectively. Continuous training ensures skill enhancement and career advancement opportunities within the field of investigation.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • No prior investigative experience is necessary; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • An Associate or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience in military or law enforcement is advantageous.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • A valid state-issued driver's license is required.
  • Current auto insurance coverage of 100/100/50 is necessary.
  • Licensing under agency regulations may be required where applicable.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ownership of a well-maintained vehicle, ideally with tinted windows.
  • Access to a functional laptop and reliable internet service.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Surveillance activities typically commence at 6:00 am.
  • While start times are generally known, end times may vary based on situational demands.
  • Investigators often work irregular hours, with daily on-site durations ranging from 3 to 12 hours, contingent on activity or client requirements.
  • Weekend and holiday work is common, as these times often yield increased subject activity.
  • Investigators are expected to operate within a two-hour radius of their residence.
  • Independent work is a key aspect of the role, requiring patience and focus, with minimal distractions in the vehicle.
  • Due to potential heat in the vehicle, it is advisable to bring food and water for hydration.
  • Daily reporting, including summaries and video uploads, is required following surveillance, or by 8 am the subsequent day.
