Job Overview

POSITION: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager (BDM) serves as a vital sales partner, ensuring the achievement of revenue goals for Yokohama Off-Highway Tires America, Inc. This role is integral to the field sales team and involves regular interaction with clients, channel partners, management, and various business sectors. The BDM reports directly to the Vice President of the South Region.

SALES TERRITORY: New England Region

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and enhance the assigned territory to generate new revenue streams with channel partners and dealers.
  • Strengthen existing partnerships to drive growth within each account.
  • Expand the channel network in the region, optimizing it for performance and revenue generation in key market segments.
  • Achieve or surpass revenue objectives.
  • Collaborate with channel partners and dealers to promote products, educate sales representatives and customers, communicate promotions, and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Deliver engaging product presentations to enhance product knowledge and customer support.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding forecasts, sales pipelines, and results.
  • Travel extensively within the territory to engage with all channel partners and dealers (approximately 70-80% travel required).
  • Participate in customer sales meetings with partners to facilitate business closures in the region.
  • Attend routine sales meetings with the team and management.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to implement regular promotions and develop marketing materials that support partner success and increase customer awareness.
  • Assist in executing the sales strategy established by the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Support and implement the company's marketing and sales initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in tire sales, with preference for candidates whose experience aligns closely with this role.
  • Proven track record of successfully expanding new and existing business within a field territory.
  • Demonstrated experience in selling through a channel or dealer network.
  • Exceptional ability to work independently, utilizing proactive sales techniques to establish new relationships and nurture existing ones.
  • Strong industry knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory up to 80% of the time.
  • Must reside within the designated territory.
  • High attention to detail, self-motivated, reliable, a team player, and capable of learning and conveying technical product information.
